For their families, friends, and future generations, more young people in Missouri are joining the smokefree movement. In the video above, you can hear some of the reasons why the Show Me PALS are committed to being healthier and breathing easier, as they mark National Kick Butts Day.
Young people have powerful voices, ideas and energy. Many youth in Missouri are active participants in the quest for cleaner, healthier air. This work has led them to create educational campaigns, talk with their fellow students and even meet with local and national representatives to discuss their concerns and views. Members of Show Me PALS and Smokebusters presented and tweeted live from the 2012 National Conference on Tobacco or Health in Kansas City, and in March 2013 youth from Show Me PALS were honored with the ACT Missouri – Missouri Youth/Adult Advocacy Alliance’s 2013 Outstanding Youth Awards during the Speak Hard conference in the State Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City.
